Helpful Tips for Visiting Shade: Clyfford Still/Mark Bradford

Artnet recently named Shade as one of the 25 museum exhibitions to visit this spring. These tips are to help you prepare for and enjoy your visit to Shade.

One Ticket/Two Venues

Shade is a collaborative, two-venue exhibition with the Clyfford Still Museum (CSM). Admission at both venues is included in the price of general admission, which can be purchased online for $8–$13 for nonmember adults; tickets are free for members and youth under 18. Your general admission receipt will allow you to visit the presentation at the DAM and at CSM during the run of this exhibition.

Here at the DAM, visitors will see large-scale abstract works recently created by Bradford presented alongside three related canvases by Clyfford Still. At CSM, visitors can see a presentation of 18 Still paintings selected in collaboration with Bradford. The selection reveals Bradford's appreciation for Still's frequent use of black.

Bags/Backpacks

To protect the art and for your own comfort, the DAM asks that you store bags and backpacks (including purses) exceeding 13” x 17” x 8” before you enter gallery spaces. Free lockers are available on level one and the lower levels of the Hamilton Building for your convenience.
